Shelby Thrift Store was started in December of 2007, and have just celebrated their 6th year of being in business. It seems like just yesterday that they opened their unique store on West Main Street. Now they have relocated to a larger facility in the old Ben Franklin building in downtown Shelby, Ohio.

Judy and Kerry Nutter, along with members of their family took a giant leap of faith and decided to continue what Volunteers of America had started several years ago.

When the VOA decided to close the Shelby location in 2007, the Nutters believed that the need for a second-hand store was still needed in this area. They made arrangements to buy the remaining store stock, as well as the store fixtures, and reopened the store as Shelby Thrift Store just 2 weeks after the VOA seized operation.

In October of 2012, Shelby Thrift Store moved to their new larger location at 42 West Main Street, in downtown Shelby, Ohio.
